Writing an Explanation

We are learning about writing explanations.  Last week a reporter from the Southland Times visited our class and talked to us about how to be a reporter and how to write an article for the newspaper. We learnt a lot of interesting things about being a reporter and the newspaper.  
An Explanation makes clear how or why things are as they are, or how things work.  I wonder if anyone could explain this picture?

    Jack thinks you could feed water to the worms using the teapot.
    Lucy: Make a cup of fairy tea.
    Zara: Your small dolls could use it.
    Dondu: Put your teeth in it.
    Elijah: Have a mini tea party with the worms.
    Bonny: Use it to cool down hot beetles!
    Seth: Put out a fairy fire.
    Ben: Who would like a tea party with me?
    Zara: Wear it as a necklace.
    Elise: Use it as a model.
